The level of public trust in the judiciary during the reform process has tripled. As a result of the judicial reformthe level of public trust in the judiciary has tripled. Such data is a second national poll of citizens, which in September-October 2018 was implemented by the USAID New Justice Program. Studies indicate that the level of public trust in the judiciary in recent years has shown though slow but steady growth - from a critically low 5% in 2015 to 16% as of October 2018. Also, according to research findings, 16% of citizens consider themselves fully or basically aware of the progress of the judicial reform. This indicator has grown significantly compared with 2017, when it was only 9 percent among the respondents. Among sources of information about the judiciary there was the mass media, in particular, television, the share of which is the largest, Internet resources, social networks, as well as impressions, assessments, experiences of friends and relatives and their own. It should be noted that these are results of the survey among citizens who have never participated in court proceedings.
At the same time, 60% of the participants in court proceedings agree that the level of judges’ qualification was high, 63% say that the judges were polite and tactful, 59% recognize the well-organized work of the court and 53% note that the case was heard promptly and without delay. It should be noted that this year in the survey on public trust in the judiciary, for the first time the index of the scale "Eurobarometer" was used, where respondents had no opportunity to mark a neutral perception of trust. According to the "Eurobarometer" scale (conformity of processes to the standards of the European Union countries) 20% of respondents express trust in the courts.
